With the Winnipeg Jets (stanley cup ring for sale) searching for the biggest goal of their season, players in the dressing room were loose heading into overtime Tuesday night.

"I mean, who doesn't want to play in an overtime (playoff) game?" forward Kyle Connor said. "I think everybody had that kind of mentality and we went out there to win it, not to kind of hold back and sit back and try to defend them."

It worked.

Connor scored at 6:02 of overtime and the Jets beat the St. Louis Blues (custom championship rings) 2-1 to tie their best-of-seven Western Conference series at two games apiece.

Mark Scheifele also scored and Connor Hellebuyck made 31 saves for the Jets, who arrived in St. Louis down 2-0. It is the only first-round playoff series in which the home team has failed to win a game.

Game 5 is Thursday night back in Winnipeg.

"Every game has been a battle," Scheifele said. "St. Louis has made us work for every inch and we know that's going to happen again in Game 5 going back home. We've got to be prepared. We've got to get our rest and be ready to battle."

Vladimir Tarasenko scored and Jordan Binnington made 37 saves for the Blues.

"Obviously, tough for sure. But again, it's a tight series," St. Louis coach Craig Berube said. "Two good teams, it could have gone either way."

Connor ended it when he banged home a feed from Scheifele for his third goal in two games. It was the first playoff overtime winner for the Jets since they returned to Winnipeg in 2011.

"It's going to look like this for possibly the next three games," coach Paul Maurice said. "It's going to be really, really tight. The entire team is going to have to play well, but you're going to need one guy to put you over the top."

Tarasenko beat Hellebuyck with a wrist shot from the top of the left circle 35 seconds into the third period to give the Blues a 1-0 lead. The power-play goal, Tarasenko's eighth career in the postseason, moved him into a tie with Brian Sutter and Al MacInnis for fourth in franchise history.

Scheifele tied it at the 7:33 mark, tipping in a feed from Connor. It was Scheifele's second goal of the series.

"Our game got better as the game went on," Scheifele said. "We knew they were going to push and they pushed all night. They played solid. They made us work for every inch. Binnington made a ton of saves and so did our goalie."

After a slow start in Game 3, the Blues (stanley cup ring for sale) came out strong in the first period. They built an 8-0 advantage in shots on goal as it took the Jets almost 11 minutes to test Binnington, who came up with a couple of saves on a Winnipeg power play to keep the game scoreless.

Pat Maroon had a pair of chances to give the Blues the lead in the second period, hitting the post off a pass from Tyler Bozak and getting stopped by Hellebuyck on a partial break.

Binnington came up big on a point-blank chance from Scheifele early in the second, and Brandon Tanev hit the crossbar on a breakaway midway through the period.

"With them winning two here and us winning two there, it's like a restart to the series," Blues forward Robby Fabbri said. "That's the mentality we're going to have to have. Just stay on an even keel and get back to work."

It's that time of year again, when NFL (super bowl ring for sale) players cast their votes to identify the best in the league heading into the 2019 NFL season. From July 22 through the 31st, NFL Media will reveal a new set of 10 names daily from the "Top 100 Players of 2019." Check in here and on NFL Network each day at 9 p.m. ET to see where your favorite players rank.

30
The string of young safeties continues as we went the top-30. Jackson was drafted in 2017 with Jamal Adams, but went 106 spots lower. Now, he joins the Top 100 with Adams, but seven spots higher. Jackson is now the third Bears (Chicago Bears championship rings for sale) defender to make the list, joining Akiem Hicks (39) and Kyle Fuller (95). His career is young, but Jackson already has a knack for finding the ball and taking it to the house. He had two touchdowns as a rookie -- a 75-yard fumble return and a 76-yard interception return, in the same game! Jackson followed that up with three defensive touchdowns in 2018, all coming in separate games this time. Defensive touchdowns are usually more random, but Jackson clearly has something figured out.

29
Kittle (championship rings for sale) makes it consecutive late-round 2017 draftees after Eddie Jackson. The former fifth-round pick establishved himself as a top tight end in 2018. Kittle and Travis Kelce were the only two tight ends in the NFL () with 85-plus catches and 1,300-plus receiving yards -- and his 1,377 yards were a record for a tight end. Jimmy Garoppolo tore his ACL in Week 3, so most of Kittle's production came with C.J. Beathard and Nick Mullens at quarterback. If Jimmy G can look as good on the field as he does off, Kittle could be in for an even better year in 2019.

28
One year after winning the Super Bowl (authentic super bowl rings for sale), Cox makes a huge leap in the Top 100. And for good reason as Cox set career marks in sacks (10.5), tackles for loss (12) and quarterback hits (34) in 2018. Cox has been a stabilizing force for Philadelphia since he was drafted in 2012. The Eagles made a huge bet when they handed him $63 million guaranteed after his first Pro Bowl season three summers ago. Fair to say it has paid off, as he's made three straight Pro Bowls since re-signing. Next season will be a new challenge for Cox. The Eagles lost Michael Bennett and Chris Long, two key pass rushers who won a Super Bowl alongside Cox. Reinforcements are coming in the form of Malik Jackson and former Eagle Vinny Curry, so don't expect much drop off from the 28-year-old.

Beating Monday's 4 p.m. ET deadline for franchised players to sign long-term extensions, kicker Robbie Gould signed a four-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers (49ers super bowl rings for sale), the team announced. Financial terms were not disclosed, but league sources told ESPN it's a two-year, $10.5 million fully guaranteed contract that, including an option clause, could turn into a four-year, $19 million deal with $15 million guaranteed. Falcons, DT Jarrett beat deadline, reach deal

Deadline passes without new deal for Clowney. Gould's deal, which his agent, Brian Mackler, and 49ers executive Paraag Marathe have been working on for months, reached a breakthrough over the weekend. At the start of the weekend, both sides thought it would be challenging to get it done, but they reached a compromise Sunday by installing an option clause.

The 49ers (cheap championship rings) have an option in which they can pick up the remaining two years on Gould's contract by the 17th week of the 2020 season, per a source. To do that, the 49ers would have to fully guarantee Gould $2.25 million at that time, then another $2.25 million on April 1, 2021. The deal includes a $3 million signing bonus and a $3.15 million fully guaranteed base salary this season, then a fully guaranteed $4.35 million base salary in 2020, per a source. If the option is picked up, the deal would include a $4.5 million base salary in 2021 and a $4 million base salary in 2022.

"Over the years, Robbie has established himself as one of the best at his position in the NFL (authentic super bowl rings for sale), which is precisely why we were so committed to working out a new contract with him," 49ers general manager John Lynch said in a statement. "I would like to thank everyone who worked so hard to make this deal come to fruition. We are very happy to start off the year on the right foot with this agreement in place so that Robbie can get back with his teammates and focus on making the most out of the upcoming season."

In April, an inability to come to terms on a long-term contract, combined with Gould's desire to return closer to his Chicago home, prompted the kicker to shut down any further contract talks and to formally request a trade. The team said then it wouldn't honor Gould's request. Gould, 36, had been living in a hotel near the Niners' team facility in Santa Clara, California, the past two years while his wife and family remained in Chicago during the season.

Danny Santana had already hit one of the five home runs by the Texas Rangers (championship rings for sale). With a chance to win the game with two outs in the ninth inning, he lined a ball up the middle and then saw Houston center fielder George Springer on a full sprint toward the ball. "When I saw Springer going after it ... I think he is going to catch it," Santana said through a translator. "I'm glad he didn't."

The liner tipped off the end of Springer's glove as the All-Star made an impressive all-out diving attempt, and Elvis Andrus scored from second base to give the Rangers a 9-8 win over AL West-leading Houston on Friday night. They rallied from a four-run deficit after Gerrit Cole struck out 13 in six innings to take over the major league lead. "That was an amazing feeling, an amazing game all around," said Ronald Guzman, whose two-run homer high off the right-field pole in the eighth tied the game at 8. "They hit us, we hit them back. Everything was in there." Andrus had a one-out single and a stolen base before All-Star slugger Joey Gallo drew a walk off Roberto Osuna (3-2). Rougned Odor then struck out for the third time before Santana's game-winning hit. "It went off the end of my glove," said Springer, who had been shaded toward left field and had to run a long way to even have a chance. "It's kind of one of those ones where it's all or nothing." Shawn Kelley (5-2), the fifth Texas pitcher, had a perfect ninth.

Rookie Yordan Alvarez hit two of the four homers for the Astros (custom Houston Astros championship rings) (57-35), who have come out of the All-Star break with two consecutive losses to the surprising Rangers (50-42). Jose Altuve and Yuli Gurriel, with his 10th homer in 13 games, also went deep. Cole left with an 8-4 lead and his 10th game this season with at least 10 strikeouts. His 183 strikeouts for the season pushed him two past Washington's Max Scherzer for the big league lead. Cole allowed more than two earned runs for the first time in a span of nine starts since his last loss May 22.

The Houston (world series rings) right-hander threw 74 of 101 pitches for strikes. Three of the four hits Cole allowed were solo homers to Shin-Soo Choo, Santana and Gallo. Tim Federowicz hit a homer after Cole was done. "It was like a heavyweight slugfest," said Cole, who has 42 strikeouts over 22 1/3 innings in four starts against Texas this season. "Came up short, but it was an entertaining game. It was quite a game."

Choo had a leadoff homer for the Rangers, and Santana's one-out blast in the second tied the game at 2-2. The next nine outs recorded by Cole, into the fifth, were on strikeouts. The only Texas run in that span was Gallo's 21st homer leading off the fourth. "That doesn't surprise me in this park. That wasn't a lot to do with the park, though. Their approach was good, they hit the ball when they needed to," Astros manager AJ Hinch said. "They were tough at-bats. It was kind of a true outcome-type game. They were punching out a ton, they were walking, they were homering and they got the single at the end."

SHORT HOPS
It was the fifth time this season the Rangers won after trailing by four runs or more. ... The nine combined homers were the most in a game at the Rangers' ballpark since 2010, when Texas and Boston also had nine. ... Alvarez has nine homers and 27 RBI in his first 21 career games. ... Gallo has four homers and 15 strikeouts in 22 career at-bats against Cole. ... Andrus' two stolen bases gave him 21 for his club-record 10th season with at least 20.

In just his eighth game in the league -- and third with the Bulls -- he scored a career-high 24 points, including two free throws with 1.8 seconds to play, to help Chicago (cheap Chicago bulls championship rings) snap a five-game losing streak with a 115-114 victory over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night.

"Nobody really expected me to be here, and the fact that the Bulls gave me the opportunity to play, let alone giving me the chance to win an NBA game, is -- I can't ask for more, man," said Lemon, who played in five games with New Orleans last season.

Lemon was one of seven Bulls in double figures in the matchup of teams whose seasons will end without a playoff appearance.

"I love guys that get opportunities and they take advantage of them," Wizards coach Scott Brooks said. "He was a handful. We couldn't stay in front of him."

JaKarr Sampson added 18 points for Chicago (cheap nba championship rings).

Thomas Bryant scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for Washington. Bobby Portis had 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Bradley Beal added 19 points.

The Wizards played their first game since Ernie Grunfeld was fired as team president after 16 seasons on Tuesday.

Chicago trailed by as many as eight in the fourth quarter, but took a 113-112 lead on Lemon's layup with 30 seconds to play. Chasson Randle hit two free throws with 12.7 seconds to play to give Washington a 114-113 lead.

TIP-INS

Bulls: G Kris Dunn (back) was out for the fifth straight game. Coach Jim Boylen hopes Dunn can stay healthy for the 2019-20 season. "Next year starts today," Boylen has told Dunn and the other players. "It doesn't start next year." ... F Otto Porter has been out for eight straight games with a strained right rotator cuff. It was the first time Porter, who was traded from Washington, had returned since the Feb. 6 trade. A video tribute was played in the first quarter.

Wizards (championship sports rings) : Beal became the first player in franchise history with 2,000 points, 400 rebounds and 400 assists in a season. ... F Jabari Parker strained his left knee in the second quarter and did not return. ... Brooks said that hearing Grunfeld had been fired was difficult. "I don't take lightly somebody losing their job," Brooks said. "You understand that, and you move on. That's what we have to do." ... F Jeff Green did not play for the third straight game. "There's only so many minutes you can give guys and Jeff has had a good year for us," Brooks said. "I want to see a few other guys. ... He's going to play another game or two."

Josh Donaldson capped his strong first-half finish by hitting a two-run homer and Culberson's defensive play helped the Atlanta Braves (Atlanta Braves championship rings for sale) escaped a bases-loaded jam in the ninth to beat the Miami Marlins 4-3 on Sunday.

With no outs and the bases loaded, Culberson caught Neil Walker's fly ball in left field and threw out Jorge Alfaro at the plate .

"I got chill bumps," Culberson said of hearing the fans' reaction to the plate.

Culberson has hit .323 as a pinch-hitter this season and has hit eight pinch-hit homers since the start of 2018, tied for the most in the majors, to earn the "clutch" nickname.

"I like it," Culberson said. "I just hope people don't hold me to it every single day."

The Braves are 10-2 against the Marlins this season and 24-7 the past two seasons.

Atlanta (championship rings for sale) led 4-0 before Garrett Cooper hit a three-run homer off Chad Sobotka in the eighth.

Miami then loaded the bases with no outs in the ninth. Alfaro led off the inning with an infield hit off Braves closer Luke Jackson. Alfaro was called out at first base before the ruling was overturned after a review. Harold Ramirez singled up the middle before Yadiel Rivera popped up a bunt that landed behind Jackson for an infield hit, loading the bases.

Culberson, a late-inning defensive replacement, caught Walker's fly ball while running toward center field. His momentum caused him to fall after making the throw.

After making the tag, Braves catcher Brian McCann pumped his fist and pointed to Culberson.

The out call at the plate was upheld after a review. Marlins (world series rings) manager Don Mattingly said he wanted a review because he thought McCann was blocking the plate.

"I don't know where the rule went or maybe I don't understand it because when we looked at the replay McCann is standing on home plate and then he goes directly to taking home plate completely away with nowhere to slide," Mattingly said, adding "... in that scenario Jorge should have cleaned his clock."

The replay showed McCann had his right foot in front of the plate and his left foot on the middle of the plate as he caught Culberson's throw.

Jackson walked Curtis Granderson, again loading the bases, before ending the game on Miguel Rojas' fly ball to center field. Jackson earned his 14th save.

Donaldson applauded Culberson's catch and throw and McCann's tag.

"He made a great throw," Donaldson said. "Great tag. Great all around. Great execution."

Freddie Freeman's bloop single off Trevor Richards in the third drove in Ronald Acuna Jr. for a 1-0 lead. Donaldson then hit a high fastball over the right-center field wall for his 200th career homer, his 18th this season.

Donaldson has hit 10 homers since June 11. He helped the Braves (MLB Teams championship rings) hit a franchise-record 143 homers before the All-Star break.

Dallas Keuchel (2-2) allowed two runs in 7 1/3 innings. The left-hander was lifted after walking pinch-hitter Brian Anderson and giving up a single to Rojas with one out in the eighth. Sobotka struck out Cesar Puello before giving up Cooper's three-run homer.

Richards (3-10) allowed four runs and six hits and five walks, matching his season high, in five innings.

Nick Markakis had three hits, including a run-scoring single in the fifth. Acuna had a career-high three walks.

The start of the game was delayed 26 minutes by rain.

The Chicago Cubs (Chicago Cubs championship rings for sale) splurged on closer Craig Kimbrel last month in hopes of shoring up the back end of their spotty bullpen.

So far, the seven-time All Star is fitting in for all the wrong reasons.

Jung Ho Kang scored on Corey Dickerson's sacrifice fly to cap a frantic ninth-inning rally off Kimbrel and lift the Pittsburgh Pirates to a 6-5 victory over the struggling Cubs on Wednesday night.

Kimbrel (0-1) came on to protect a one-run lead and pick up his second save since signing a three-year deal with Chicago. Instead he trudged to the dugout with his teammate walked off with his first loss since joining the Cubs. The Pirates used a walk, a flare that turned into a double and some aggressive base running to win their third straight.

The closer walked Elias Diaz on a full count with one out. Kang followed with a double to right that Chicago's Willson Contreras couldn't track down. Diaz beat the throw to the plate from Chicago second baseman Addison Russell on Adam Frazier's fielders' choice. Kang sprinted home when Kyle Schwarber's heave from left field following Dickerson's fly ball was late to set off a giddy celebration.

"I think my stuff was moving and I was throwing it where I wanted to a little bit more, but didn't get the results," Kimbrel said. "That doesn't always work out."

Not the way the Pirates are playing.

Pittsburgh (cheap Pittsburgh Pirates championship rings) has won 12 of 17 following a seven-game losing streak to pull within one game of .500 (42-43).

"That was nuts. Craziest ending to a game that I've ever seen," said Pittsburgh first baseman Josh Bell, who hit his 26th home run of the season and added a double to give him 59 extra-base hits, the most ever by a National League player before the All-Star break. "I feel like that just adds to the momentum."

Starling Marte collected three hits for the Pirates. Frazier's streak of hits in seven straight at bats ended in the first but he singled in the seventh. Melky Cabrera went 3 for 4 and delivered a two-run home run off Chicago starter Yu Darvish but was also thrown out at home by Contreras to end the eighth while trying to score on a single by Colin Moran.

All it did was set the stage for Pittsburgh's (world series rings) 21st comeback win of the season.

"We play hard from the beginning to end," Diaz said. "It's special."

REELING CUBS

Victor Caratini homered from both sides of the plate for the Cubs, including a go-ahead two-run shot in the seventh off Francisco Liriano to give the Cubs a 5-4 lead. Javy Baez added his 22nd home run for Chicago but the Cubs lost their fourth consecutive game.

Chicago (cheap championship rings) missed a chance to pull even with Milwaukee for first in the jam-packed NL Central, where all five clubs are separated by 4 1/2 games heading into July 4.

"These kinds of losses are difficult but you have to come back and play the next day," Cubs manager Joe Maddon said. "That's how the game is set up. I do like the fact that we played a better brand of baseball. We did a lot of things well in spite of not having everybody out there."

No team has been able to take control of the division. Chicago looked like it was ready to in early June, but an 8-19 stretch brought the Cubs back to earth.

Chicago president Theo Epstein has threatened changes if the Cubs don't get going, and Chicago called up outfield prospect Robel Garcia on Wednesday after he racked up 21 home runs in the minors following a five-year stint playing in Italy.

Garcia ended up striking out in the eighth in his first big-league at bat, but by then Caratini had already given the Cubs the lead.

Caratini's fourth home run of the season and second of the game put Darvish in line to win his first game since April 27. Darvish endured a stretch of 10 straight no-decisions -- the longest by any starting pitcher in 42 years -- before a loss to Atlanta last week. He worked crisply for most of his 6 2/3 innings, allowing four runs on seven hits with six strikeouts and no walks while throwing 62 of his 86 pitches for strikes.

Christian Yelich singled with the bases loaded and hit his major league-leading 30th homer Monday night, helping the Milwaukee Brewers (championship rings for sale) rally for their sixth straight victory at Great American Ball Park, 8-6 over the Cincinnati Reds.

Milwaukee sent 10 batters to the plate for five runs in the seventh inning, with Yelich contributing an RBI single. Yelich hit a two-run homer in the ninth that made him the first Brewer with 30 before the All-Star break. Prince Fielder hit 29 before the break in 2007.

Yelich knew he was one homer away from the mark. He hit No. 29 on June 21 and had only four hits and one RBI since.

"It's cool," Yelich said. "It's hard to put it out of your mind. You're constantly reminded about it by the fans and the media. It's nice to get it out of the way."

The homer came off a pitch that was above the strike zone and landed in the first row of seats in left field.

"It was one of those weird ones," Yelich said. "It wasn't the best pitch to swing at, but that's baseball. Sometimes, you do everything right and don't get rewarded. Sometimes, you do everything wrong and hit a home run."

Even though he's struggled lately, he had two important hits when the Brewers needed them.

"He's had a tremendous first half," manager Craig Counsell said. "I think he'll tell you he's been fighting himself a little bit, but he still came up with big hits tonight."

The Brewers (cheap Rings Set Collection championship rings) have won 11 of 15 overall against their NL Central rival. This time, they overcame a pair of two-run homers by Eugenio Suarez , who has three in the last two games.

Trailing 3-1, Lorenzo Cain led off the seventh inning with a homer that was only the second hit off Tyler Mahle. David Hernandez (2-4) walked Yasmani Grandal with the bases loaded to force in a run that put Milwaukee up 4-3, and Yelich followed with a single.

Mahle gave up three hits overall, including Keston Hiura's homer in the fifth.

The Brewers got a career-high five-plus innings from Adrian Houser, who was making his fourth start after 14 relief appearances. He blanked the Reds (Cincinnati Reds championship rings) on four hits over the first five innings, but Jesse Winker hit a solo shot and Suarez added a two-run homer as the Reds chased Houser to open the sixth.

Alex Claudio (2-2) retired the three batters he faced in the inning. Suarez connected again in the eighth off Josh Hader. Jeremy Jeffress allowed a run in the ninth while getting his first save.

Chris Taylor drove in the go-ahead run with a bloop single as part of a four-run ninth, Max Muncy hit two of Los Angeles' (cheap Los Angeles Dodgers championship rings) six homers and the Dodgers won their 12th straight over Colorado by beating the Rockies 12-8 on Thursday night.

This was another late-inning win over the Rockies for the Dodgers, who also got a three-run homer from pinch-hitter Kike Hernandez in the ninth. Los Angeles won three straight home games against Colorado last weekend -- all in walk-off fashion.

"It's just a staple for us -- the resiliency and playing with grit," Taylor said. "We've been really good late in the game."

Taylor played a big part by delivering his fourth hit of the game, a one-out RBI single off Wade Davis (1-3) that dropped over the head of first baseman Daniel Murphy. Hernandez later extended the lead by homering off Davis. It was with Hernandez's sixth career pinch-hit homer.

"They're a great team," Davis said. "When you make mistakes you're going to pay for them."

Pedro Baez (3-2) pitched a scoreless eighth to earn the win. Kenley Jansen struck out Garrett Hampson to end the game with two on in a non-save situation.

On a hot evening, the baseballs were soaring everywhere. The Dodgers (championship sports rings) knew it was going to be that sort of game in batting practice, when Muncy launched a ball that landed over the third deck in right.

"This is one of the few places where I try to let it eat in batting practice," Muncy said. "Yeah, I guess we knew it was flying at that point."

The teams combined for 33 hits in the first of a four-game set. In the last series at the hitter-friendly park, the Padres and Rockies set a modern-era record by combining for 92 runs in a four-game series.

Muncy had a two-run homer in the seventh and a solo shot in the second, one pitch after Cody Bellinger homered. Alex Verdugo and Justin Turner had back-to-back homers in the fifth.

This marks the second-longest losing streak to one team in Rockies history. Colorado dropped 16 straight to Atlanta from 1993-94.

"The worm will turn, I know that," Rockies (mlb championship rings) manager Bud Black said. "Right now things are going their way ... but the worm will turn."

Charlie Blackmon finished a homer shy of the cycle. Ryan McMahon hit a solo shot in the seventh.

Lately, everything seems to be going Bellinger's way at the plate. His 27th homer of the season popped out of the glove of center fielder David Dahl and over the fence. Bellinger is one away from matching the Dodgers' record for most homers before the All-Star break, which is held by Gil Hodges (1951) and Duke Snider (1955).

Walker Buehler had a rare rough evening in allowing a career high in runs (seven) and hits (13) over 5 2/3 innings. His ERA jumped from 2.96 to 3.43.

This was a much different performance than a week ago against Colorado, when he threw a complete-game masterpiece. In that contest at Dodger Stadium, he scattered three hits and struck out 16 batters.

The Yankees' (New York Yankees championship rings for sale) most recent power feat qualifies as "obscure" to manager Aaron Boone. Just not unexpected.

Aaron Hicks and Giancarlo Stanton stretched New York's home run streak to a record-tying 27 games, and the Yankees beat the Toronto Blue Jays (custom Toronto Blue Jays championship rings) 10-8 Monday night. Hicks and Stanton each hit three-run drives, and New York matched the mark set by Alex Rodriguez and the 2002 Texas Rangers.

"Nothing surprises me that they do," Boone said about his club, which set a major league record last year with 267 homers. "I wouldn't set out to predict they're going to break that one. That's kind of an obscure one. But now that it's happened, with our group, does it surprise me? No."

"It's kind of what we do," Hicks added.

CC Sabathia (5-4) pitched six innings of two-run ball for his 251st career victory. He threw 104 pitches, his most in a game since 2016, and struck out a season-high nine. The 38-year-old left-hander whiffed Billy McKinney with his final pitch, earning a big roar from the Bronx crowd.

Stanton hit his shot during a seven-run sixth inning for his first homer in a season spoiled by various injuries.

The Yankees batted around during that inning, their fourth time turning over the order in the past week. The blowout came a night after New York ended its eight-game winning streak.

Blue Jays starter Aaron Sanchez (3-10) allowed seven runs in 5 1/3 innings. Toronto had won three of four.

Hicks turned on Sanchez's fastball in the fifth inning to make it 3-2 with his fifth homer of the season.

Didi Gregorius and Gleyber Torres led off the next inning with consecutive singles, and then the Yankees were off. DJ LeMahieu -- who matched a career high with four hits -- had a single, Luke Voit had an RBI double and Gregorius singled again before reliever Sean Reid-Foley finally ended the frame with New York up 10-3.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hit his 10th homer for Toronto (custom championship rings) leading off the eighth. Nine of those have come in 29 games since he was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on May 24.

Gurriel's shot was the first of five straight hits allowed by Jonathan Holder -- the last was a grand slam by Freddy Galvis. The right-hander was pulled after that without getting an out. Gurriel batted again during the five-run inning and struck out on three pitches against Adam Ottavino.

Yankees (mlb world series championship rings) closer Aroldis Chapman allowed an unearned run during the ninth but got his 22nd save.

"We don't quit," Toronto manager Charlie Montoyo said. "We made them use their setup man, their closer. So outstanding. I love this team."

Sanchez looked sharp early, especially when he back-doored running fastballs to Voit and Hicks for consecutive looking strikeouts in the third.

"He pitched better than what his numbers show for sure," Montoyo said. "He had his good stuff."

McNeil homered and drove in three runs while making his first career start in right field, helping the New York Mets (cheap New York Mets championship rings) beat the Chicago Cubs 5-4 on Friday.

"I think that this guy is playing the type of baseball that you want everybody to play," Mets manager Mickey Callaway said.

Michael Conforto also connected as the slumping Mets won for just the fourth time in their last 11 games. Brooks Pounders (1-0) got his first victory since he was acquired in a deal with Cleveland last week, and Edwin Diaz worked a 1-2-3 ninth inning for his 16th save.

McNeil's two-run shot off Yu Darvish gave New York a 3-2 lead in the third. With two outs and Adeiny Hechavarria on second in the seventh, Cubs manager Joe Maddon brought in left-hander Mike Montgomery to face McNeil, and he pulled an RBI single into right field to break a 4-all tie.

"Kind of swung at a borderline pitch, but got enough barrel on it and found a hole," McNeil said.

McNeil also played right as part of an unusual defensive lineup by Callaway, who was looking for more offense after New York lost 7-4 on Thursday night in the opener of the four-game series. He got his first major league action in right when he played two innings at the position May 21 against Washington.

McNeil moved to left before the Cubs (custom Chicago Cubs championship rings) batted in the eighth and made a key defensive play on Willson Contreras' bloop hit. McNeil picked up the ball, noticed Anthony Rizzo had taken a wide turn around second and ran at the big first baseman to begin an inning-ending rundown.

"I think that's just my baseball instincts kind of taking over," he said.

The Cubs also had Albert Almora Jr. picked off first for the final out of the sixth.

"We made too many mistakes," Maddon said, "on the bases we made mistakes."

Addison Russell hit a two-run homer for Chicago (championship rings for sale), which dropped to 2-2 on a 10-game homestand. Brad Brach (3-2) got the loss after surrendering Hechavarria's leadoff single in the seventh.

Darvish allowed four runs and four hits in six innings in his 10th consecutive no-decision, extending a franchise record. He became the first traditional starting pitcher with 10 straight no-decisions since Philadelphia's Randy Lerch in 1977.

"I want to compete," Darvish said. "Not only frustrating, like weird. I'm not losing. I'm not winning. It's just weird. I want to win."

While Darvish was just OK on the mound, he had quite a day at the plate.

He slapped a two-out RBI single through the right side to give the Cubs a 2-1 lead in the second. He led off the fifth with another single against Jason Vargas, and Russell followed with a drive into the bleachers in left for his fifth homer .

The 32-year-old Darvish entered with one hit this season and six for his career.

Russell's first homer since May 28 made it 4-3, but the Mets (mlb world series championship rings) tied it in the sixth. Darvish struck out Pete Alonso and Robinson Cano before Conforto went deep for his 15th of the season .

"I know I give up a lot of runs after we score," Darvish said. "I really focused on Conforto on that pitch, but just, he hit it."

WORTH WATCHING

If Craig Kimbrel sails through his second appearance with Triple-A Iowa on Friday night, he could pitch for the minor league club again on Saturday. The 31-year-old Kimbrel is ramping up after finalizing a three-year contract with Chicago on June 7 that guarantees the closer $43 million.

MULLING IT OVER

The Cubs are contemplating various options for their rotation after Adbert Alzolay's successful major league debut Thursday night. Alzolay pitched in relief of Tyler Chatwood, but the right-handers could switch places next time the spot comes up. The team also could go with a six-man rotation to provide some rest for its starters before the All-Star break.

Jimenez hit a tiebreaking two-run homer in the ninth inning in his first game against his first major league organization, helping the Chicago White Sox (cheap Chicago White Sox championship rings) beat the Chicago Cubs 3-1 on Tuesday night.

The 22-year-old Jimenez was a top prospect for the Cubs before he headlined a rare trade with the White Sox for veteran left-hander Jose Quintana in July 2017. The Jimenez deal will live on in sports bars all over Chicago for many years to come, and the rookie added another wrinkle with one big swing in his first game at Wrigley Field.

"It was a dream come true," he said. "I wanted to hit one at Wrigley, but now with the White Sox it feels really good."

James McCann hit a leadoff single before Jimenez drove a 1-0 pitch from Pedro Strop (1-3) over the wall in left for his 12th homer . Considered one of baseball's top young sluggers, Jimenez has gone deep six times in his last nine games.

"We were hoping he could get a pitch he could handle and obviously he did," White Sox (custom championship rings) manager Rick Renteria said. "It was a big blow."

Adding another layer to the accomplishment, Jimenez cracked his bat on the swing. He smiled as he proudly displayed the broken lumber after the victory.

"It was an amazing moment," he said.

Evan Marshall (3-0) got two outs for the win and Alex Colome worked the ninth for his 15th save. Four White Sox relievers combined for four scoreless innings after Ivan Nova turned in one of his best starts of the season.

The slumping Cubs (custom Chicago Cubs championship rings) kicked off a 10-game homestand with their fourth loss in five games. Kyle Schwarber connected for his 16th homer and Cole Hamels pitched seven effective innings, but that was it for the North Siders.

"We just have to do a better job offensively," manager Joe Maddon said.

Hamels became the 10th left-hander with 2,500 career strikeouts when he threw a called third strike past Nova for the first out of the third . The crowd of 41,192 responded with a big cheer when his accomplishment was displayed on the videoboard, and Hamels tipped his cap in appreciation.

"To do it in front of fans that really understand and get it, that's a very special moment," Hamels said.

Jimenez had a chance to get the White Sox off to a fast start when he batted with the bases loaded in the first. But Hamels got him to bounce into an inning-ending double play.

Schwarber then lined Nova's first pitch of the game into the bleachers in left for his fourth career leadoff homer . He also started Thursday's 7-3 loss to the Dodgers with a home run on Clayton Kershaw's first pitch.

The White Sox tied it in the sixth. Leury Garcia led off with a double and Tim Anderson followed with a hard grounder into the hole at shortstop. Javier Baez made a sliding stop, but he threw wild to first and Garcia hustled home on the error.

IN ACTION

Craig Kimbrel took another step toward joining the Cubs (mlb championship rings) when he worked a perfect inning in his first appearance with Triple-A Iowa. The 31-year-old Kimbrel is ramping up after finalizing a three-year contract with Chicago on June 7. The closer could pitch in another minor league game Thursday or Friday.

Albers allowed just one inherited runner to score in a key spot, and Eric Thames and Jesus Aguilar homered to help the Milwaukee Brewers avoid a three-game sweep with a 5-3 victory over the San Francisco Giants (cheap San Francisco Giants championship rings). Christian Yelich had two doubles, extending his season-high hitting streak to 13 games. The reigning NL MVP is batting .472 (25 for 53) with five homers over that stretch. Albers (3-2) pitched the fifth for the win, working in relief of starter Chase Anderson, who gave up three runs in four-plus innings.

"Matt came in in a big spot, was able to limit the damage to just one run," Yelich said. "With the bases loaded no outs you take that any time, consider that a victory. "That was really the game right there. It was a big spot." Albers struck out Posey before giving up Brandon Belt's sacrifice fly, which closed the Giants to within 4-3. He got Brandon Crawford to hit a pop up for the last out after walking Evan Longoria. Albers, Junior Guerra, Jeremy Jeffress and Josh Hader combined for five shutout innings of two-hit ball in relief for the Brewers. Hader pitched a perfect two final innings, striking out three to get his 17th save in 18 chances. "Our bullpen had a great game today," Brewers manager Craig Counsell said. "Really good stuff. That was the game, the bullpen today was the game for sure, and they did a nice job."

Thames' homer, his 10th of the season, off Giants (custom championship rings) starter Jeff Samardzija (3-6) in the fifth gave the Brewers a 4-2 lead. Samardzija gave up four runs on nine hits and two walks in five innings. The 34-year-old threw 114 pitches. Aguilar hit a pinch-hit homer off Giants reliever Derek Holland leading off the sixth to make it 5-3. The Brewers took an early lead on RBI singles from Yasmani Grandal in the first and Ben Gamel in the second. The Giants tied it in the second, when Evan Longoria's leadoff triple started a two-run inning. Yelich's double made it 3-2 in the fourth. The Brewers had lost four of their previous five after winning straight.

The Giants (mlb world series championship rings) had their season-high four-game winning streak snapped as they concluded their homestand at 5-3. "We didn't cash in enough," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. "There was a lot of traffic out there and we couldn't get the big hit." With two outs and Ben Gamel aboard in the top of the second, Yelich hit a drive to right that slipped through a small gap between the fencing doors in right field. The fluky play cost the Brewers a run with Gamel, who would have easily scored if the ball remained in play, held at third on the ground-rule double. "It went through the wall, we obviously wish it didn't go through the wall," Yelich said. "Just one of those freak baseball plays."

Leonard and the Toronto Raptors (championship rings) captured the country's first major title in 26 years with their most remarkable road win yet in the franchise's NBA Finals debut, outlasting the battered and depleted two-time defending champion Golden State Warriors 114-110 on Thursday night in a Game 6 for the ages. "I wanted to make history here. That's what I did," a soaking wet Leonard said, ski goggles perched on his forehead and sporting a fresh black champions hat. Stephen Curry missed a contested 3-pointer in the waning moments before Golden State called a timeout it didn't have, giving Leonard a technical free throw with 0.9 seconds left to seal it. Leonard, the NBA Finals MVP for a second time, then got behind Andre Iguodala for a layup as the buzzer sounded, but it went to review and the basket was called off before Leonard's two free throws. That only delayed the celebration for a moment.

When it actually ended, the typically stoic Leonard could let it all out. A Canadian team -- and we're not talking hockey here -- stood on top of one of the traditional major sports leagues for the first time since the Toronto Blue Jays won the 1993 World Series. Serge Ibaka pulled his head up through the hoop by the Golden State bench as the crowd chanted "Warriors! Warriors!" after a sensational send-off at Oracle Arena. Curry walked away slowly, hands on his head on a night Splash Brother Klay Thompson suffered a torn ACL in his left knee and departed with 30 points. Fred VanVleet rescued the Raptors down the stretch with his dazzling shooting from deep to score 22 points with five 3s off the bench, while Leonard wound up with 22 points. Kyle Lowry scored the game's first eight points and finished with 26 in all to go with 10 assists and seven rebounds. Fans poured into the streets in Toronto, screaming and honking horns after the Raptors pulled off a third straight win on Golden State's home floor that said goodbye to NBA basketball after 47 seasons. And the Raptors did it with the very kind of depth that helped define Golden State's transformation into a dynasty the past five seasons.

Golden State (cheap Golden State Warriors championship rings) already was down two-time reigning NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant, who had surgery Wednesday for a ruptured right Achilles tendon. Then, the Warriors lost Thompson -- and they couldn't overcome just one more heartbreaking injury. "A lot of bad breaks in the finals, to be honest," Raptors coach Nick Nurse said. "Like us, they kept on playing. We just had to keep on playing no matter who was out there. And I think they were super intense high-level games and both teams desperately trying to win." This thrilling back-and-forth game featured 18 lead changes, nine ties and neither team going ahead by more than nine points. Curry scored 21 points but shot just 6 for 17 and went 3 of 11 on 3s. Iguodala added 22 for his biggest game this postseason as the Warriors did everything until the very last moment to leave a lasting legacy at Oracle.

Thompson provided his own dramatic memory. He injured his knee when fouled by Danny Green on a drive at the 2:22 mark of the third, was helped off the court and walked partially down a tunnel toward the locker room, then -- shockingly -- re-emerged to shoot his free throws before going out again at 2:19. He didn't return and left the arena on crutches, and the Warriors announced that an MRI had confirmed the torn ACL.

"More than the what-ifs is just feeling bad for the players involved. Injuries are always part of the NBA (custom nba championship rings) season -- any professional sport, injuries play a huge role," Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. "It's just the nature of these injuries, the severity of these injuries. And we'll know more about Klay. But we can sit here and say, well, if this hadn't happened or that hadn't happened, that doesn't matter. What matters is Kevin Durant is going to miss next season with an Achilles tear and Klay suffered a knee injury." In their best Bay Area version of Jurassic Park -- Toronto's jam-packed gathering spot to cheer the Raptors -- hundreds of red-clad fans stayed long after the game ended to watch the Larry O'Brien trophy ceremony. They waved the Maple Leaf and sang "O Canada" just as they did here after winning previously this series.

Lowry's hot start was almost fitting. It was the Toronto guard who got shoved on the sideline in Game 3 by Warriors minority owner Mark Stevens, now banned by the league and team for a year. The Raptors, in their 24th season of existence, rallied from two games down to beat the Bucks in the Eastern Conference finals then took down the mighty Warriors on their home floor to deny Golden State a three-peat. The Raptors went 8 for 32 on 3s in a 106-105 Game 5 defeat as the Warriors staved off elimination Monday in Toronto. They started 5 of 6 from long range in this one and finished 13 of 33 and converted 23 of 29 free throws. Curry and these Warriors never, ever count themselves out. Yet down 3-1 in their fifth straight NBA Finals, they didn't have the health it took to win the past two titles and three of the past four against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Fiers pitched six effective innings, Matt Olson and Khris Davis hit consecutive homers, and the Athletics beat the Tampa Bay Rays (Tampa Bay Buccaneers championship rings for sale) 4-3 on Tuesday night. Oakland, at 34-34, is three games behind Texas for the second AL wild card. "Obviously the record right now doesn't show how good we really are," Fiers said. "It's a long season. You can't look too far ahead or how far ahead some of the teams are ahead of us. We've got to come play every day and just battle every day." Fiers (6-3) allowed two runs and three hits, and is 4-0 in seven starts beginning with his no-hitter against Cincinnati on May 7. Liam Hendriks, Lou Trivino and Blake Treinen, who gave up Willy Adames' RBI single in the ninth en route to his 15th save, combined to strike out six and complete the four-hitter.

"We really haven't hit our stride yet," Oakland (custom Oakland Athletics championship rings) manager Bob Melvin said. "It's been a little of a fight and battle for us to this point but I think at some point we'll get past it." Tommy Pham homered for the Rays, who are 16 games over .500 despite an 18-15 record at home. "Kind of quiet at the plate," Tampa Bay manager Kevin Cash said. "We didn't do many things wrong, we were just pitched really, really tough." The Rays are tied for first in the AL East with the New York Yankees, who split a day-night doubleheader with the Mets. After Matt Chapman reached on shortstop Adames' throwing error in the sixth, Olson hit a two-run homer and Davis then went deep two pitches later off Emilio Pagan (1-1) as Oakland took a 4-2 lead.

TOP225.jpg

Pagan, acquired by Tampa Bay (championship sports rings) from the Athletics in a three-team trade in December, had allowed just one run over 19 innings in his previous 18 appearances. "No one likes doing bad," Pagan said. "Doesn't make me any more upset than it would anybody else." Pham put the Rays up 1-0 on a first-inning homer. He had been 1 for 17 in five games since returning June 6 from lower right leg injury. Adames walked with two outs in the fourth, went to third on Kevin Kiermaier's single and scored to make it 2-0 on a double steal.

Oakland (mlb championship rings for sale) got to 2-1 on Chad Pinder's RBI single in the fifth.
Athletics: SS Marcus Semien played in his 150th consecutive game, dating to last June 28. "He's as durable a player as I've ever had, so at this point in time I don't see a day off for him," Melvin said. Semien extended his hitting streak to nine games (16 for 39) after leading off the game with a double.
Rays: DH Austin Meadows finished his at-bat in the eighth after fouling a ball off his lower right leg. Soreness in the leg will likely keep him out of Wednesday's lineup. ... INF Joey Wendle (fractured right wrist) could be back Thursday.

Bryce Harper was about 45 feet down the line and had Phillies fans on their feet as he took off for a straight steal of home . With the Phillies ahead by a run and slugger Rhys Hoskins at the plate, Harper thought the gamble was worth the payoff. Harper dashed on right-hander Sonny Gray's fastball and slid into home , out in a puff of dirt on the tag by Curt Casali.

Harper's hustle in third inning had backfired -- and the Phillies' lead soon disappeared in a 4-3 loss to the Cincinnati Reds (cheap Cincinnati Reds championship rings) on Sunday. "I had a good read, good jump," Harper said. "I think if I just slid headfirst, got my hand in there a little bit, it probably would have been better. I probably should know if my guy has a take sign or not just in case he swings and puts one right in my face." Joey Votto tied the game for Cincinnati with a two-out single in the seventh inning and Eugenio Suarez followed with the go-ahead hit to rally the Reds and avoid a three-game sweep. "Just a lot of good things happened today to be able to win that game," Reds manager David Bell said . Harper got tangled up in a pair of plays at the plate, scoring from second on a misplayed popup but getting thrown out on an attempted steal of home.

Trailing 1-0, the Phillies (cheap Philadelphia Phillies championship rings) loaded the bases with two outs in the third against Grey. Hoskins hit a routine popup to first base that Votto appeared to lose in the sun. The ball plopped untouched on the field, and Maikel Franco scored from third and Harper from second. Harper initially was called out by plate umpire, but Harper got his right leg to the plate between the legs of catcher Casali's legs and was ruled safe after a video review. Jean Segura's sacrifice fly in the fifth made it 3-1. With two outs and Hoskins up, Harper broke for the plate and was tagged out by Casali. When Harper was a rookie with Washington in 2012, Harper stole home on Cole Hamels after the Phillies lefty drilled him in the game.

The Phillies (championship rings for sale) weren't pleased with this attempt, either. "He has been very aggressive on the bases and he's won some games for us with his aggressive baserunning," Phillies manager Gabe Kapler said. "He and I spoke about it and he understands that was a little overaggressive." Harper has won over the fans and helped put the Phillies in first place in the NL East with his hard-charging style, and won't change his attitude toward taking the extra base just because of one miscue. "I just like to run bases. I like to run, even when I was younger. I like to try to make plays on the bags, play the game hard," he said. "I've said it in the past, my teammates expect that out of me, these fans, this city as well. I expect it out of myself. Try to play hard each day." Raisel Iglesias allowed the potential tying run to reach on first base in the ninth but tossed a scoreless inning for his 13th save in 14 chances. Zach Duke (3-1) pitched one-third of an inning, helping stop Philadelphia's four-game winning streak. Harper had a chance to tie the game in the eighth but he struck out against Amir Garrett.

Hoskins drove in two runs for the Phillies (mlb championship rings) on the misplayed popup. Aaron Nola tossed four-hit ball over 6 2/3 innings as he tried to follow teammate Nick Pivetta with a second straight complete game for the Phillies. Pivetta struck out six in his first career complete game on Saturday. Nola led 3-1 when he was chased after 6 2/3 innings with two on. Jose Alvarez (0-2) gave up a single that loaded the bases, and Votto lined a two-run that tied the game at 3-all. Suarez followed with a single off Vince Velasquez came in and gave up the go-ahead single to Suarez to make it 4-3.

A rare off night by the offense left the New York Yankees (New York Yankees championship rings) back-to-back losers for the first time in more than a month. Freddy Galvis hit a two-run home run, Randal Grichuk added a solo shot and the Toronto Blue Jays held off New York 4-3 Tuesday night to end a season-worst six-game slide. "We needed that one," Galvis said

Clint Frazier and Aaron Hicks homered for the AL East-leading Yankees, whose last consecutive defeats came April 30 and May 1 at Arizona. The Yankees (mlb championship rings for sale) lost 8-5 to Boston on Sunday. New York failed to score at least four runs for the first time in 15 games, a streak that began May 19. The Yankees went 1 for 12 with runners in scoring position and left 11 on base. "We weren't able to score enough," manager Aaron Boone said. Toronto closer Ken Giles struck out Gleyber Torres with two on in the ninth to wrap his 11th save, and Eric Sogard had three hits as the Blue Jays won for the first time since beating San Diego on May 26. Toronto went winless on a six-game trip to Tampa Bay and Colorado. "It's a lot better when we win," Blue Jays pitcher Clayton Richard said. "It's a lot more fun. We can listen to music and have a good time together."

The Blue Jays (championship rings for sale) scored just three total runs in their final two losses in Colorado, but they topped that with a four-run fifth against right-hander Masahiro Tanaka. Tanaka (3-5) lost his second straight start, allowing four runs and six hits in six innings. "The home run ball hurt him on a couple of hanging sliders," Boone said. "That was kind of the difference tonight." Daniel Hudson (4-2) pitched 1 1/3 innings and Giles got the final four outs. Frazier opened the scoring with a two-run drive off left-hander Clayton Richard in the fourth, his 11th. Earlier in the day, Frazier expressed a mix of defiance and remorse in his first public comments since three defensive mistakes in the last innings of a loss to Boston last weekend.

Frazier said his homer "felt good," and was "much-needed," but denied using the discussion around him as fuel. "I don't need motivation through articles that are written," he said. Grichuk halved the deficit with a leadoff drive in the fifth, his 10th. Cavan Biggio followed with a walk and was initially ruled out on an attempted steal of second, but the call was overturned following a video review. One batter later, Galvis gave the Blue Jays the lead with his ninth home run. He is blast snapped an 0-for-16 slump. Sogard hit a two-out double and made it 4-2 when he scored on a base hit by Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

"Any time you beat teams like that, they're big wins," Blue Jays (Toronto Blue Jays championship rings for sale) manager Charlie Montoyo said. "You have to play your A-game and we did tonight." Hicks homered off Joe Biagini in the eighth, his second.

Yolmer Sanchez hit a tying single, then entertained his White Sox (cheap Chicago White Sox championship rings) teammates with a dugout show during a long rain delay before Chicago's game against the Kansas City Royals was suspended in the fifth inning with the score 1-all Monday. The teams will pick up Tuesday where they left off, with two outs in the bottom of the fifth and a runner on second. Play is set to begin at 5:40 p.m. EDT, before the regularly scheduled night game. The clubs waited through a 2-hour, 55-minute delay with the White Sox batting in fifth. The game resumed for only five minutes, long enough for Sanchez to hit an RBI single, before play was halted again. The suspension was announced an hour later.

"We thought there was a window there to be able to continue the game," White Sox (championship sports rings) manager Rick Renteria said. "Obviously, we started it and it started coming down pretty soon after we did. It is what it is. You can't control Mother Nature. She did what she did, and this is where we stand." During the break, Sanchez kept the White Sox amused by doing jumping jacks on the bench. Then the 26-year-old second baseman poured a beverage bucket over his head as he stood in the rain. He also made mud angels at third base after play was stopped a second time. Royals manager Ned Yost praised the umpires, saying they were "absolutely fantastic in trying to get this game in." "They did a phenomenal job of giving us every opportunity," he said. "The weather just wouldn't cooperate. (Crew chief Bill Miller) tried his best to get this game in for both teams but it just didn't work out. The field's a mess right now."

The rain was coming down hard in the fourth when Kansas City's (custom Kansas City Royals championship rings) Adalberto Mondesi doubled and scored from third on Hunter Dozier's two-out single . Chicago had runners on first and second with one out in the fifth after James McCann and Jose Rondon singled against Homer Bailey. Sanchez had a 2-1 count before the first delay hit.

Once the game resumed, Sanchez immediately hit a tying single against Brian Flynn. Rondon got caught rounding second on the play when right fielder Whit Merrifield threw behind the runner. Sanchez moved to second when Flynn bounced a pitch to Ryan Cordell. Play was stopped again. Bailey gave up three hits in 4 1/3 innings. Chicago's Ivan Nova went five innings, allowing six hits.

White Sox (mlb championship rings) : SS Tim Anderson (sore right wrist) said he's still feeling some pain when he swings, though he "felt a lot better." Anderson was out of the lineup for the third straight game after being hit by a pitch Friday at Minnesota. ... OF Jon Jay (strained right hip) appears close to going on a rehab stint. He was in Chicago being evaluated after staying in Arizona for extended spring training. "I'm dying to go out there and play some baseball, which is what I love to do," he said. "We're definitely taking the right steps." ... OF Leury Garcia (sore right shoulder) was out of the lineup for the second straight game.

Thrust into an everyday role because of injuries, Jake Marisnick is making the most of his opportunity with the Houston Astros (Houston Astros championship rings for sale). Marisnick homered early off Chris Sale, then made two dazzling defensive plays in center field to help the Astros beat the mistake-prone Boston Red Sox 4-3 on Friday night. "There's not much not to like (about him) in a game like that," manager AJ Hinch said. "When you're a bench player ... you just want an opportunity. You just want a chance to show it. And he's doing great things on the field. It's pretty impressive."

It looks like Marisnick could get more chances for consistent playing time after George Springer injured his left hamstring sliding to try and catch a foul ball in the eighth inning in his first game back after missing four games with a stiff back. Hinch said they'd know more on Saturday, but it looks as if he'll be headed to the injured list. "I'm not looking forward to the diagnosis, it doesn't look good," Hinch said. "He never pulls himself out of the game like that. He was limping from the very beginning." In a matchup of the last two World Series winners, the Red Sox committed three errors, not looking nearly as sharp as they did in their last visit to Minute Maid Park when they captured the pennant with a 4-1 win in Game 5 of the AL Championship Series in October. The Astros took two of three last weekend at Fenway Park.

The Red Sox did end Ryan Pressly's MLB (mlb championship rings for sale) -record streak of 40 straight scoreless appearances when Jackie Bradley Jr. launched the first pitch from the Houston reliever for a home run in the eighth inning. Wade Miley (5-2) yielded four hits and two runs in six innings, striking out a season-high eight to win his fourth straight decision. All of Boston's errors came in the first four innings to help the Astros build a 4-0 lead. "You've got to play clean against them," manager Alex Cora said. "They do more than hitting. They run the bases well, they're very athletic. It was a weird one. It was one of those that, if we played better defense, we'd have a chance." Xander Bogaerts hit a solo homer in the sixth and Bradley made it 4-2.

Christian Vazquez homered off Roberto Osuna with two outs in the ninth, but the Houston (championship rings for sale) closer struck out Bradley for his 13th save. It was his 25th consecutive converted save, a franchise record. Sale (1-6) gave up three hits and four runs, but only two of them were earned, in six innings. He struck out five after fanning 10 or more in each of his last four starts -- he struck out 10 against the Astros in his previous outing, getting a no-decision in a game Boston eventually won. Sale was asked about having just one win this season. "I don't really care whether I'm 6-1, 1-6 or 0-0 for the whole year, I just want to win the games that I pitch in," he said. "Obviously, you want to be on the other end of it and I'm not the biggest fan of coming in here to a quiet clubhouse. It's on me. It's on my shoulders and I've got to find a way to win."

Marisnick robbed Andrew Benintendi of a hit with a diving catch in the fifth. Marisnick got him again for the first out of the ninth when he sprinted to make a nifty, over-the-shoulder catch at the wall. "Anytime you get a chance to get in there and get consistent reps and see pitching consistently it makes it a little bit easier to make adjustments," Marisnick said. "When you're not playing every day and you're trying to make adjustments and make things work it's hard. So it's been nice to play every day." Boston's J.D. Martinez also returned to the lineup after missing the previous four games because of a back problem.

The defensive struggles for the Red Sox (Boston Red Sox championship rings for sale) began in the second inning. Aledmys Diaz singled with one out and reached second on a wild pitch by Sale. He scored when Josh Reddick reached on a throwing error by first baseman Steve Pearce. Marisnick hit a solo homer in the third. Houston added two runs in the fourth on a wild throw home by shortstop Bogaerts and a sacrifice fly by Springer. Miley retired the first 10 batters, striking out six. He got Martinez to ground into an inning-ending double play in the fourth with two runners on, and escaped a bases-loaded jam in the fifth by striking out Bradley and retiring Michael Chavis on a lineout.

Rafael Devers joined an exclusive club of young Red Sox (Boston Red Sox championship rings) sluggers who have homered in three straight games, Chavis hit a tiebreaking homer in the 13th inning and Boston beat the Toronto Blue Jays 6-5 on Wednesday night. The teams conclude their four-game series with an afternoon finale on Thursday. It's scheduled to start exactly 13 hours after Wednesday's game ended at 11:37 p.m. No wonder Chavis was so happy about his tiebreaking homer. "Thank goodness," he said of his reaction. "I knew it was getting late and I knew we had an early bus tomorrow for this day game. I got a lot of thank yous."

Among those expressing gratitude was fellow slugger Mookie Betts. "Super happy," Betts said. "Try and get back and get some rest. Definitely good to get the win tonight." Boston improved to 10-3 in its past 13 road games. The Red Sox are 4-1 in extra innings. "This is a big win for us," Red Sox right-hander Rick Porcello said. "We've got a chance to win the series tomorrow and that's what we need to do." Devers led off the eighth with a blast to left off Derek Law, his sixth. It made Devers the sixth player in Red Sox history aged 22 or younger to homer in three straight games. The others are Ted Williams, Babe Ruth, Carl Yastrzemski, Rico Petrocelli, and Jim Tabor. But Marcus Walden couldn't hold a 4-3 lead for Boston in the ninth. Brandon Drury hit a one-out double and pinch-hitter Danny Jansen sent the game to extra innings with a two-out single.

Toronto (world series rings for sale) used two singles and an intentional walk to load the bases against Walden with one out in the 10th. Red Sox manager Alex Cora brought Betts in to play as a fifth infielder before Walden fanned Freddy Galvis for the second out. After Betts returned to right field, Walden escaped the jam by getting Drury to fly out. Betts put Boston back on top by connecting off Joe Biagini in the 12th, his eighth, but Rowdy Tellez tied it again with a two-out drive off Heath Hembree in the bottom half. Chavis restored Boston's lead with a homer off Jimmy Cordero (0-1), making Hembree (1-0) the winner. Chavis has 10 homers and 25 RBI in 28 games. According to the team, the last time the Red Sox hit multiple go-ahead home runs in extra innings of the same game was April 29, 1951, at Philadelphia, when Dom DiMaggio and Tom Wright did it in the 11th and 12th innings.

Cordero, who was claimed off waivers from Washington on May 15, was making his Blue Jays debut. Toronto has not won back-to-back games since a three-game sweep of Oakland from April 26-28. The Blue Jays are 6-15 since. "It was a really good game," manager Charlie Montoyo said. "I'm proud of my guys for the game we played today against one of the best teams in baseball." Mitch Moreland had two RBI, and Jackie Bradley Jr. and Betts each scored twice for the Red Sox, who have won three of four.

Toronto (Toronto Blue Jays championship rings) rookie Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit his first home run at Rogers Centre, but that was all the Blue Jays got against Porcello, who allowed three hits in six innings. "Rick was outstanding," Cora said. Toronto right-hander Aaron Sanchez was forced to leave after three innings because of a blister in his previous start, May 17 against the White Sox, but said the blister didn't bother him against Boston. Sanchez, who is winless in five starts, allowed two runs and four hits in six innings. "I can't wait for this finger issue to be behind me," Sanchez said.

Red Sox (championship sports rings) slugger J.D. Martinez was held out of the lineup because of a sore back. Martinez sat out the previous two games because of illness, but had been expected to return Wednesday. The two-time All-Star is hitting .308 with nine homers and 28 RBI.

TRAINER'S ROOM
Red Sox: Chavis remained in the game after being hit on the helmet by a pitch from Sanchez in the sixth. ... INF Brock Holt (right eye) went 1 for 3 with a walk in his second straight rehab name for Triple-A Pawtucket. 2B Dustin Pedroia (left knee) went 0 for 3 with a walk and two strikeouts.
Blue Jays: Guerrero rolled his right ankle breaking out of the box on a bloop single in the sixth. He had the ankle taped between innings and remained in the game.

Experience bred confidence for the Golden State Warriors (Golden State Warriors championship rings), even when challenged by the upstart Portland Trail Blazers. No matter how far they were down, they've been through too much to ever think they're out. "We just really understand what we're capable of on both sides of the basketball," Draymond Green said. "We're never out of the fight. That's just always our mindset."

The Warriors swept their way to a fifth straight NBA Finals, getting triple-doubles from Stephen Curry and Green in a 119-117 overtime victory on Monday night. The two-time defending champions overcame a double-digit deficit for the third straight game against the Blazers, back in the conference finals for the first time since 2000. Green had 18 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists, and made a key 3-pointer in overtime. Curry added 37 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists. They became the first teammates to have triple-doubles in the same playoff game.

The Warriors will face the winner of the Eastern Conference finals between Toronto and Milwaukee. The Bucks lead that series 2-1 with Game 4 on Tuesday night in Canada. The Warriors came back from 17 down after erasing an 18-point deficit in Game 3 and a 17-point hole in Game 2. "We've been here before. We've seen everything, every experience you can imagine. So we relied on that," Curry said. Playing without Kevin Durant, Andre Iguodala and DeMarcus Cousins, the Warriors became the first team to reach five straight finals since the Boston Celtics went to 10 in a row from 1957-66. Damian Lillard, playing with separated ribs, had 28 points and 12 assists for Portland. He missed a 3-point attempt as time ran out in the extra period. Meyers Leonard added a career-high 30 points along with 12 rebounds.

The Warriors (cheap championship rings) were up 114-113 in the extra period after Green missed the first of a pair of free throws. CJ McCollum's jumper from out front briefly gave Portland the lead but Alfonzo McKinnie's basket put Golden State back ahead and Green made a 3-pointer to push it to 199-115 with 39 seconds left. Lillard made a layup and Curry missed a jumper to give Portland back the ball. Facing stifling defense from both Green and Klay Thompson, Lillard couldn't get off a shot but the ball went out of bounds in the scramble. The Blazers got it back with 3.3 seconds left but Lillard's final shot didn't fall. Blazers coach Terry Stotts was asked if he was expecting another buzzer-beating winner from Lillard, who had a memorable 3-pointer at the buzzer to clinch the first-round series against Oklahoma City. "Yeah, I did. I thought it was going to -- kind of meant to be," Stotts said. "When he shot it, it had a good arc. I thought it had a chance."

The Blazers (Portland Trail Blazers championship rings) stretched the lead to 17 points in the third quarter, but the Warriors went on a 12-0 run to close within 95-90 early in the final period. Green's long baseline jumper gave the Warriors a 108-106 lead with 3:30 left. Lillard's 3-pointer put the Blazers back ahead and Leonard's dunk extended it to 111-108 with just under 2 minutes to go. After Thompson's 3-pointer tied it up again both Curry and Lillard missed 3s. Curry made a 3 from the corner with 10.7 seconds left but he was called for traveling first and it didn't count. Lillard's layup bounced around the rim and out and the game went to overtime. Iguodala was out because of a sore left calf. The veteran swingman, who is averaging 10.1 points in the playoffs, was hurt in the second half of Saturday's Game 3 victory. It was not known how long he'd be out, but the Warriors said an MRI Sunday was clear.

Golden State was already missing Durant because of a sore right calf. It's unknown when the two-time NBA (cheap nba championship rings) Finals MVP will return. Also sitting is Cousins, who injured his left quadriceps in the opening round. "We've had guys step up all along this entire time and we're going to look forward to those guys continuing to step up, no matter what happens with the injuries that we have," Green said. "You know, we're trying to go win this thing. Never the goal is just to get there." Lillard separated his ribs in Game 2 but was playing through the pain. He averaged 33 points in the first-round playoff series against Oklahoma City but struggled against Golden State's defensive focus on him.

Playing with urgency in an elimination game, Portland pulled in front 30-28 in the opening quarter on CJ McCollum's layup and free throw, but Curry answered on the other end with a step-back 3-pointer. Portland went ahead 59-50 after back-to-back 3-pointers from Leonard, who finished with five 3s in the first half. Curry hit a 3-pointer with 2.6 seconds left in the half to close the Warriors within 69-65 at the break. Portland pushed the lead to 83-72 on McCollum's 3-pointer. After he made another 3 to push the lead to 91-78, he gestured to the crowd to make noise. McCollum finished with 26 points.

A little while later, it was Gio Urshela who had the last word for the New York Yankees (New York Yankees championship rings for sale). Urshela's single capped a three-run rally in the bottom of the ninth inning, and the surging Yankees leapfrogged Tampa Bay into first place in the AL East with a rousing 4-3 victory Friday night. "When Gio came up, I said: 'Turn off the lights,'" Sabathia recalled. Urshela, subbing spectacularly for injured third baseman Miguel Andujar, sent a two-out drive over Kevin Kiermaier's head in deep right-center field for his first walk-off hit. "The kid's just been unbelievable, and every time there's a big situation, he always comes through," teammate Luke Voit said. "He's been the energy of this team so far," Sabathia said.

Voit homered on the first pitch from Jose Alvarado (0-3) to make it 3-2. New York tied it when pinch-runner Thairo Estrada scored on a bases-loaded wild pitch by Alvarado, who entered with a 1.04 ERA. Urshela and Voit had three hits apiece. Kendrys Morales clubbed an early solo shot for his first home run since joining the Yankees on Wednesday following a trade from Oakland. Willy Adames homered off Sabathia, who pitched six strong innings, and rookie Brandon Lowe hit a tiebreaking double against Chad Green with two outs in the eighth. Tampa Bay added another run on shortstop Gleyber Torres' throwing error before rain caused a 35-minute delay in the bottom of the inning. Torres doubled on the 10th pitch of his at-bat in the ninth to put runners at second and third with one out. "There's no excuse for what happened," Alvarado said through a translator. "They must have been sitting on my fastball."

Jonathan Holder (3-1) struck out two in a perfect inning. With their fourth straight victory and ninth in 11 games, the injury-ravaged Yankees (cheap championship rings) took over the division lead for the first time since a March 30 loss. "Night in and night out, I mean, it gets better and better. It's crazy," Voit said. Tampa Bay had been alone in first place since the end of games on March 31. The unfriendly rivals play twice more this weekend after New York took two of three from the Rays last weekend at Tropicana Field. "Anytime you get walked off, it's tough," Rays manager Kevin Cash said. "We did a lot of things good. We just came up short." Sabathia threw three inside pitches to Austin Meadows, including one right near the knees, before walking him with two outs and nobody on in the fifth. As he was coming off the field, a camera caught Sabathia appearing to tell teammates he "was definitely trying to hit" Meadows.

"I really didn't think anything of it, honestly," Meadows said. "He didn't hit me. So all good there." After striking out Lowe with his final pitch in the sixth, the big lefty cursed and yelled a nasty phrase in the Rays' direction. "I don't remember what I said," Sabathia answered. "Just excited about the game. We are playing for first place." The 38-year-old Sabathia got into heated exchanges with the Rays the previous two times he faced them -- once last year, once this season -- when he grew angry over pitches that either hit or went behind New York batters. In his final start last season, Sabathia was ejected at Tropicana Field and handed a five-game suspension for plunking Jesus Sucre after Andrew Kittredge of the Rays threw behind Austin Romine.

"CC's always got a little bit of an edge," Yankees (mlb championship rings for sale) manager Aaron Boone said. "He went out and set the tone really well to start off this series." Despite the latest verbal antics by Sabathia, who plans to retire after this season, there was no trouble on the field. "You know CC, he's been around a long time. He's a competitor," Meadows said. "He obviously wanted to take a shot there, but it is what it is, obviously. We've had beef back and forth, so it is part of the game."

TRAINER'S ROOM
Rays: Yandy Diaz was back in the lineup at first base after leaving Wednesday's game in Miami with a sore left ankle. ... Guillermo Heredia (bruised right hand) started in center field. He was hit by a pitch Wednesday, but X-rays were negative. ... C Anthony Bemboom, who sprained his left knee Wednesday, was placed on the 10-day injured list and is expected to miss four to six weeks, Cash said. That opened a 25-man roster spot for catcher Erik Kratz, acquired Thursday from San Francisco. ... RHP Hunter Wood (sore right shoulder) struck out three in one inning of a rehab outing Thursday for Class A Charlotte and is "real close" to returning, Cash said.
Yankees: LHP James Paxton (left knee inflammation) won't come off the injured list in time to start Sunday's series finale, Boone said. He is expected to throw another bullpen in the next few days and could return to the rotation on the upcoming road trip next week.

Jackson became the first player in major league history to play for 14 teams when he made his Toronto Blue Jays (Toronto Blue Jays championship rings for sale) debut and pitched five innings without a decision in a 4-3 loss to the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday. "It says I have a lot of perseverance," Jackson said. "I'm not one to give in. I feel like out of those 14 teams, some of those teams have had situations that would probably make people want to go home and quit and cry. For me, the tougher it gets, the harder I work and the harder I come to prove myself that I can come get outs in the major leagues." The 35-year-old right-hander allowed three runs (two earned) and six hits in five innings. He struck out two, walked one, hit a batter and left after 77 pitches with the score 3-3. Toronto acquired Jackson from Oakland on Saturday for $30,000. He began his tenure with his new team by throwing an 88 mph cutter that Joe Panik took for a called strike. "We were thinking about 80 to 90, and he gave us 77," Toronto manager Charlie Montoyo said. "He kept us in the game. He did a great job. He's going to give you all he's got every time he takes the mound, like he did today."

Jackson had been tied with Octavio Dotel for the most MLB (mlb championship rings for sale) teams. Jackson agreed last month to a minor league contract with the A's and was 1-0 with a 6.75 ERA in three minor league starts. In addition to the Blue Jays and Athletics, Jackson has played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Tampa Bay Rays, Detroit Tigers, Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago White Sox, St. Louis Cardinals, Washington Nationals, Chicago Cubs, Atlanta Braves, Miami Marlins, San Diego Padres and Baltimore Orioles. He won a World Series title with the Cardinals in 2011.

"If I was one of those guys that was a nuisance to the clubhouse, then it wouldn't feel as great," Jackson said. "But knowing that the name that I've left behind for myself, on the field stuff, off the field, there's not too many people that have a lot of bad things to say about me. In that regard, it feels great. The personality gives me a chance to have an opportunity to play with a team. Now I have to go get it done." Brandon Crawford hit a tiebreaking home run in the sixth off Ryan Tepera (0-2) after going 0-for-2 against Jackson.

"He's always been a tough at-bat for me," Crawford said. "Threw me a nasty cutter in my second at-bat and has always mixed speeds with his slider and changeup." Toronto has four starting pitchers on the injured list, including right-handers Clay Buchholz (shoulder) and Matt Shoemaker (out for the season after knee surgery) and left-handers Ryan Borucki (elbow) and Clayton Richard (right knee). Jackson, who made his 306th big league start, is 104-123 in 17 big league seasons. He gets paid at the rate of a $2 million salary while in the majors and can earn $500,000 in performance bonuses based on starts: $150,000 each for 15 and 18 and $200,000 for 20. Mark Melancon (1-0) pitched out of a first-and-third, no-outs jam in the sixth for the win. Will Smith struck out the side in the ninth to remain perfect in 11 save chances.

Aramis Garcia also homered for San Francisco (cheap San Francisco Giants championship rings). Toronto leadoff hitter Brandon Drury singled and scored three runs. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. walked and had an RBI groundout in four plate appearances, one day after the 20-year-old became the third-youngest player to hit his first two major league home runs in the same game. Freddy Galvis hit an RBI double in the first, but Jackson gave up a run-scoring double to Pablo Sandoval in the bottom half. Garcia hit a two-run homer in the second after right fielder Billy McKinney dropped Kevin Pillar's short fly ball for an error.

EFFECTIVE DEBUT
Giants starter Shaun Anderson also gave up three runs (two earned) in five innings but allowed just two hits. He threw a run-scoring wild pitch in the third and allowed Guerrero's tying grounder in the fifth.
"We didn't play our best defense, and they got a couple of cheap runs, but overall I thought he did a nice job," manager Bruce Bochy said. "Couldn't get a hit to blow it open, but he did his job."

Toronto (championship rings for sale) LHP Thomas Pannone was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo after going 1-3 with a 6.85 ERA in 14 games for the Blue Jays. RHP David Phelps and Shoemaker were transferred to the 60-day IL. Toronto also claimed RHP Jimmy Cordero off of waivers from Washington and optioned him to Buffalo. Cordero has not pitched in the majors this season. The 27-year-old was 1-2 with a 5.68 ERA in 22 games with the Nationals in 2018.

J.T. Realmuto doubled in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning, Cesar Hernandez hit a two-run homer and the Philadelphia Phillies (Philadelphia Phillies championship rings) beat the Milwaukee Brewers 7-4 Monday night. Lorenzo Cain had a career-high five hits and Mike Moustakas homered for Milwaukee. Harper struck out three times and was hitless in four at-bats but made a diving catch on Moustakas' liner to right field with two outs, the bases loaded and scored tied in the seventh. "I'm just trying to play the best defense I can and not let my at-bats factor in," said Harper, who is batting only .222 after signing a $330 million contract. "You have to play both sides of the ball, stay focused on both sides. My pitchers need me." The NL East-leading Phillies then rallied in the bottom half. Jean Segura struck out swinging but reached on a wild pitch by Matt Albers (2-2). Alex Claudio entered and retired Harper on a fly to center. Junior Guerra replaced him and struck out Rhys Hoskins. But Realmuto ripped a double to left-center to score Segura for a 5-4 lead. After Hernandez walked, Odubel Herrera extended the lead to 7-4 with a two-run double. Neither starter was effective on a cold night following a 52-minute rain delay at the start.

Phillies (championship sports rings) ace Aaron Nola lasted only three innings, giving up three runs and five hits. He had given up just three runs combined in his previous three starts. "I threw a lot of pitches, got behind guys, but the bullpen came in and did a nice job," Nola said. Adam Morgan (2-1) got four outs for the win and Pat Neshek finished for his second save. Brewers starter Freddy Peralta allowed two runs -- one earned -- and seven hits in four innings, striking out five. Moustakas blasted a solo homer into the second deck in right field to give the Brewers a 3-2 lead in the third. Cain's RBI double off Austin Davis increased the lead to 4-2 in the fourth. But Davis then pitched out of bases-loaded jam with no outs. Yasmani Grandal grounded into a third-to-home double play and Eric Thames struck out looking.

Christian Yelich's double and Grandal's triple each knocked in runs in the first. "We had a ton of opportunities but there wasn't a hit that could break the game open," Brewers manager Craig Counsell said. Nola helped himself at the plate in the second. With runners on second and third and one out, he worked a full count and then hit a grounder to shortstop. Thames dropped the throw to first for an error, allowing both runners to score and tie the game at 2.

REMEMBERING DAVID
The Phillies (mlb world series championship rings) honored team chairman David Montgomery with a video tribute and his name was scripted along both foul lines. Players are wearing a patch on their uniforms with his initials. Montgomery passed away last week after a battle with cancer.

ROSTER MOVES
Davis was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley before the game. The left-hander had been optioned Sunday after being recalled on Saturday.

TRAINER'S ROOM
Brewers: OF Ryan Braun wasn't in the lineup for a third straight game because of a sore left hamstring but had a pinch-hit single.
Phillies: RHP David Robertson was told by Dr. James Andrews not to throw for three weeks to allow the flexor strain in his right elbow time to heal. Robertson hasn't pitched since April 14. There's no timetable for his return, but he is expected to miss at least another month. ... RHP Edubray Ramos was placed on the 10-day injury list with right biceps tendinitis.
